Blackberry could lose out to it’s Sidekick.

As the time draws near for RIM (Research in Motion) the company behind the ever popular Blackberry to find out if they will be able to continue to offer their popular e-mail service. If the chance (ever so slightly) that they do have to stop their service I’d like to believe the Sidekick could step in and save the day.

”I can’t imagine that any chief information officer worth their salt hasn’t been thinking about the potential consequences” of the BlackBerry e-mail system going down, said Hank Nothhaft, chief executive of Danger, the Palo Alto company that makes the software for Sidekick, the trendy mobile device sold by T-Mobile.

Seems like Danger themselves are trying to posture into a winning position in case RIM’s e-mail service has to go the way of the Dodo. Best of luck to Danger and T-Mobile with growing the Hiptop user base.
