Okay, a very simple program for those aspiring developers (much like myself) to deconstruct. It adds two numbers using NumberEditor and NumberField objects. Very simple program with lots and lots of documentation. As you can see, 8 + 6 does in fact equal 14. So it successfully can add two numbers together. I’m going to add [...]

A program for the readers.
Looking to start programming? Well I couldn’t recommend the forums at developer.danger.com more, everyone has been very prompt to answer my questions and I’ve learned quite a bit. Enough to release a very simple (I repeat very simple) program. Updated from the Hello World sample program from Danger this just shows a few more parts [...]

tutorials anyone?
Speaking with a Newtontalk member off list I decided that maybe I should continue my mini-review / how-to guide for Newton adventures (you may remember Flash Card or Common Words) but I’d like to hear some suggestions / submissions for what people are looking to do or have done with their Newton. It would [...]

Cut it out Sidekick.
Well looks like Molly Shannon got the hatchet back while typing away. I admit that I’ve been lost in thought before while tapping out message after message. But never enough to ignore the hatchet. Great showing for the power of the Sidekick.
Looks like she’s Asking Jeeves on how to remove a hatchett that’s just out [...]

If you don’t read Cargo “The New Buyers guide for Men” you definately should. In the February issue (on stands now) they review cell phones with keyboards (strangely missing from the index found on page 86). They compare the Danger Hiptop with the Nokia 9300, Motorola MPX, Siemens sx66 as well as a few others. [...]

thanks to all.
Hard to believe that I started this site 12 months ago. Almost 7000 visitors, countless hours of Newtonscript programming, checking for that elusive episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and trying to follow up on all the Newton news that is fit to blog.
Thanks to all for following along with me and let’s hope that [...]

Special showing by Danger’s Hiptop on Arrested Development. Such an intelligent show would certainly use such an intelligently designed phone.

First programming update.
Well it turns out that Danger’s Hiptop is such a closed system that they have an emulator (refered to as the Hiptop Simulator) which allows for development without a Sidekick even. Quite a few websites have information about setting up Danger’s simulator (which can be downloaded from Danger’s developer depot). Once the Simulator is installed [...]

why yes it can read.
When you mention eBook’s don’t forget about the Newton. Turns out Cory Doctorow from the EFF made sure to point out the Newton is still viable; especially when it comes to eBooks (check here, here, and here).

Just sending this blog entry out of my Simulator. After a simple change I have Bloggy running like a champ. Thanks AcidAngel. Maybe one day I’ll have something put together that you’ll thank me for.

i saw this on enterprise once.
Looks like 2010 isn’t the end of the Newton, seems like in the mid 22nd century they are using Newton(like) devices. Well, once you change a blue to green at least.
Pretty soon geeking out on the Newton won’t be syncing information through a built-in Bluetooth connection, running a few experiments using eProbe, or even playing [...]

i’m sending out an S.O.S.
I’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the people who voted for me over at This Old Newt but I still need your help. If you’ve ever used Rush Hour (as it appears is one of the more popular programs of mine) then do both of us a favor and add another vote for [...]

An excellent idea, would we love the Newton as much if they were still around? If everyone had one would we just sit around and bash it much like those Mac fanatics.
An excellent read at The Guardian for anyone who might be interested. Lots of great insight into the rumored sub-$500 dollar mac to be [...]

WHA?
Okay, so the Newton lives through Einstein? Now if I just felt as though I had a “fast” mac. If anyone has gotten Einstein running care to leave a comment about their system specs?
Thanks goes out to Paul Guyot for the development and recent screenshots of this amazing feat of Newton history.

Time to vote
Could you show some support for my labours of love? By that I mean This Old Newt has started their voting for the 2004 Newtie Awards. I’m not asking for a win, I’m just asking for some small recognition. Personally if I weren’t myself I would have voted for Newtendo but I do love myself [...]
